4th of July Revisited

So, it's been awhile, per usual, so here are some updates from the land of George.

The week before the 4th, our church, in partnership with 2 other area churches, opened a resource center at an apartment complex where many refugees are living in Austin. A group of us hung out there each night that week to get to know the families there. I don't like posting kids pics without permission, but thankfully we did a mask project! These kids are so fun and amazingly strong. And to top it all off, they LOVE our kids. We were really blessed by our time out there.

Mueller (our neighborhood) knows how to Keep Austin Weird. We stepped out our front door to watch a little parade on the morning of the 4th. Here were the people leading it. Maizie was a little wary of the giant blue beehive.

July has been H.O.T. We've done a lot of nightswimming to cool off from the hot days. Here's Anderson on his favorite perch.

Another way to keep cool and spend time as a family is a trip to our home away from home, IKEA. Maizie has to stop and pet the "sheep" rugs every time we go there.
